The aluminium bar is 230mm long x 45mm wide x 6mm thick.
The long bar is useful for mounting telescopes using cradle rings and attaching the assembled rig to photo tripods. The bar can also be used for direct attachment to open-topped AZ1 and EQ mounts (i.e. Sky Watcher and other brands that do not use the dovetail plate connection system but just have open holes to attach rings).
There are a total of 10 holes in the bar - the two holes in the centre are tapped to 1/4" and 3/8" Whitworth thread to allow the bar to be attached to standard and professional camera tripods. The eight remaining holes comprise 4 x 7mm diameter holes unthreaded (two each side of centre 63.5mm centre) and 4 M6 threaded holes offering a number of hole spacing permutations are achieved: 130mm apart,140mm apart,150mm apart and 160mm apart (all spacings given are centre to centre of the holes).
The bar is manufactured from aluminium and is finished as self-colour.
A useful larger bar for telescope mounting projects.
